Prologue

 As a note from the author I will preface, I wrote this story due to frustration with SML and the cast. Putting them in the setting of the Danganronpa series is basically my way of venting my frustration, That is, By killing them. Also I am not really a genuine fan of Modern SML and this is sort of a writing expiriment / shitpost. That doesn't mean I'm not trying to make it a well written story.

I am aware that as a concept this is extremely “Cringe”.

Just go with it ok.

???: “I should have known from the very start that this was all sinister…”

???: “About a week before I arrived, I received a letter. Actually I woke up with a letter resting on my head…”

???: “It was stamped with a symbol resembling a bear, Split into a White and Black side, I opened it out of curiosity and confusion”

“Dear Marvin Mario, The Ultimate Retired Hero

You are being invited as one of 16 Ultimate Participants to enjoy a luxurious time on a beautiful Island!

In six days an escort will be sent to get you

You may decline or accept our offer at that time!

We can’t wait to see you!”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “The truth is things have been hard for me lately, Very hard, My son left when he turned 21, He told me he felt like I had abused him physically and verbally and he didn’t want to see me ever again… The truth is he was not lying, Not at all. The truth though, Is that we abused each other, I was never fit to be a parent, And he was particularly difficult…”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “Just briefly after that my wife left too, She realized how flawed I was and that was that… I was left to deal with my ridiculously expensive house payments… But I couldn’t, I have been homeless for a while now…”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “That’s exactly why I jumped at the opportunity. No one had remembered that I used to be a real hero for many years… When the escort game I said yes, Speaking of the escort, It was someone else I had known before, Chives The Ultimate Butler, He was at one point the Butler for the very man who had been taking my house payments, But I guess he was selected early for the… Event…”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “It wasn’t until our boat arrived that I felt overwhelmed by a feeling of pure despair, After that I went completely unconscious…”

Prologue:

???: “Hey, Wake up Mr. Mario! I can NOT believe you’re the first person I’ve found in this place!”

I was startled to suddenly hear a voice, Let alone, A familiar one… A voice that belonged to a former neighbor of mine, A young man named Timmy Huckerdoo. 

I slowly lifted my head to see Timmy, I was sitting at a desk, Like the type one would find in a classroom, But… I was clearly not in a classroom, I was in the middle of a forest.

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “Timmy Huckerdoo?! I’m a little surprised to see you here, I didn’t know you had Ultimate potential, No offense I mean…”

Timmy Huckerdoo: “Oh it's Fine, By the way I’m The Ultimate Vocalist!”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “Oh, That makes sense”

Timmy Huckerdoo (The Ultimate Vocalist): “Anyways, Have you seen anyone else around here?”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “Well, I was brought in by a guy named Chives, He said he was The Ultimate Butler”

Timmy Huckerdoo (The Ultimate Vocalist): “Same! He brought me in like earlier today!”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “He brought me in today too, The letter said there were 16 of us so Chives is making 15 trips in one day. I assume we were the first to arrive.”

Timmy Huckerdoo (The Ultimate Vocalist): “Well actually, I do know who just one of those other 13 is, It’s my uhh… Bandmate, Cody, He got a letter when I did, he’s The Ultimate Inventor!”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “Alright, Well I think it’s a good idea to go back to the dropoff point, Then we will see whoever comes next…”

Timmy Huckerdoo (The Ultimate Vocalist): “Great idea!”

Timmy and I walked to the dropoff spot for about 20 Minutes. It was tough seeing as we really had no idea how to navigate, Once we made it we saw the boat was already nearing the Island… Once it reached us, someone else jumped down from it. Someone else I knew, Although someone I really had not seen in a while, His name was Woody. Given my past with him I knew immediately, He would be The Ultimate Shrimpo Hunter! So I figured out the first 5 Ultimates, But I had no Idea about the other 11…

Woody caught sight of me

Woody (The Ultimate Shrimpo Hunter): “Chewiboi! Mario I had no idea you would be one of the Ultimates here! But I’m sure glad to see ya!”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “I’m glad to see you too Woody!”

Timmy Huckerdoo (The Ultimate Vocalist): “Umm, Who is THIS guy?!”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “Oh well, This is Woody, He’s actually one of my closest friends, But I understand why you wouldn’t know him since you moved here relatively recently.”

Woody (The Ultimate Shrimpo Hunter): “That’s right! I’ve been out hunting Shrimpo in foreign parts of the globe!”

Woody (The Ultimate Shrimpo Hunter): “By the way that Butler guy said he would be back in like 5 Minutes or so, Said he was averaging 4 and was trying to be safe!”

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “Timing like that seems inhuman, But, My ride was pretty fast, I hardly remember it to be honest…” 

Timmy Huckerdoo (The Ultimate Vocalist): “Not even Cody would be that fast!”

A little while later when the next trip came things got even stranger, I could see Chives driving the boat, But the person who got off the boat was a second Chives, The Ultimate Butler!

I could tell Chives was driving it, But also, Chives had just jumped off onto the beach. It was clear as day, There were somehow two of the same man!

Chives (The Ultimate Butler): “I can not believe this! Even Goodman would not go as far as to make clones of me without my consent!” 

Things were only getting stranger.

Marvin Mario (The Ultimate Retired Hero): “So are you the real Chives?!”

Chives (The Ultimate Butler): “Marvin? I’m shocked to see you here, And yes, I am the real one! I have no idea what's going on with these bizarre Duplicates!”

Woody (The Ultimate Shrimpo Hunter): “Hold on, You’ve been talking like there’s more than one clone.”

Chives (The Ultimate Butler): “I was inferring you see! The driver of that boat said there were 3 others bringing the other 12 Ultimates to 3 different spots on the Island, I’m guessing that they are also using my likeness!” 

???: “Hehehe…”

No one could tell where that laugh was coming from. 

???: “You’re close but a little off Chives! The 4 of us are all robotic duplicates of different participants! “ 

The duplicate Chives jumped down from the boat.

???: “My name is Monobutler!”

Chives (The Ultimate Butler): “Well that’s just ridiculous! How dare you use my face for this without even consulting me!”

Chives swung his fist towards Monobutler, Who just barely dodged him.

Monobutler: “Geez watch out! If you hit one of us you’ll get punished!”

Timmy Huckerdoo (The Ultimate Vocalist): “Punished?”

Monobutler: “I forgot, That’s not my job to explain! Anyways, Since the four of you are already here, There is something I need to tell you!”

Monobutler: “The current time is 9:34, At 10:00 we will be having a meeting with all 16 of you at the center of this Island, The luxurious Mansion! I'll be your guide so follow along behind me okay! By the way, each of the 4 groups will be separated into different rooms so you can’t see who you're dealing with just yet!”

Monobutler led the 4 of us to the Mansion. It was absolutely massive, And I was not in the mood to go inside. It radiated a feeling of sadness, No, It radiated Despair.

We were led inside and then through a blue door, Which was next to three others. We found ourselves inside of a cramped room with a small television screen and nothing else.

Monobutler: “We’re the last to get here, So the transmission will be starting now!” 

The screen flickered for a second, Until an image became clear, It was the Bear, That particular bear the letter was stamped with…

???: “Hello everyone! I’m Monokuma!”

Monokuma: “I’m here to explain the rules for everyone here over the magic of Television! Unfortunately I couldn’t make it here myself this time since I'm off pursuing bigger things!”

Monkuma: “Anyways, You must be wondering what exactly is going on here! Clearly this is no ordinary peaceful Vacation! Well, The truth is that this will be permanent! You will be stuck on this Island for the foreseeable future!”

Me, Timmy, Woody, and Chives all had looks of fear and confusion and fear on our faces…

Monokuma: “But don’t you worry! There’s a fun way for one of you to escape! Murder! That’s right, If one of you kills another, Once the body is discovered the group will be given a set amount of time to look for evidence! Once that’s over, we get to the main event! The Class Trial! Try to figure out the killer, Get it right and the killer will be executed! Get it wrong and the killer goes free to leave the island, But the rest of you all die right then and there! Fufufu!”

Monokuma: “One more thing, Do not attack the Escorts, Or the Headmaster, That is, Once the Headmaster arrives! And with that I must depart you lovely people… Anyways, happy killing!”

This was a killing game…

What an absolute fool I was to blindly think that this would just be some sort of fun event… 

Timmy was horrified, Woody was horrified, Chives was horrified.

But the Monobutler just smiled.

Monobutler: “You may now leave the room and meet the other 12 participants!”

I messed up so badly…
